Kristina Lao is a Hong Kong–born, multinational artist crafting luminous, cross-cultural folk-pop marked by cinematic depth, layered harmonies, and assured presence.

Kristina Lao (any pronouns) is a Hong Kong–born, multinational interdisciplinary artist crafting luminous, cross-cultural folk-pop with quiet authority. Blending cinematic textures, layered harmonies, and a subtle Brit-lilt, her songwriting is both intimate and expansive; reflective, assured, and emotionally precise. Her recent releases, Choices and Hollow, mark a confident evolution in sound and scope.
In 2025, Kristina performed on festival main stages for Dragon Boat and Light Up Chinatown, and showcased at Pacific Contact, IndieFest, and Guilt & Co. A recipient of the Creative BC Demo Recording Grant and Music BC Travel Grant, she continued expanding her reach across continents.
In 2026, as a recipient of the Creative BC Artist Development Grant, Kristina begins an ambitious new chapter — recording and touring across British Columbia ahead of her sophomore EP, her most fully realized work to date.
